Question:
Which ballasts can be used for fluorescent lighting?

Answer:

According to European Directive no. 2000/55/EG, only energy-efficient ballasts in categories B2 and B1 and electronic ballasts in categories A3, A2 and A1 may be installed from 21st November 2005 onwards. As of that date, ballasts in categories C and D (conventional ballasts) may no longer bear the “CE” marking.
